Oppo, my car is fuckin' filthy (but it's too dark to go take pictures so here).
I'll confess, I am not the best at keeping the FiST clean, inside or out. Sure I'll run it through the car wash occasionally but I've never waxed/washed it by hand. When I first took delivery of it, sure it got washed weekly but since then I've slowed down quite a bit and it's a "when I get to it" kind of deal. Currently the outside is mud covered cause I like to thrash my white FiST on dirt access roads, the windows have hand prints all over (sexy time), the dash is dusty, the mats need to be vacuumed, there are smudges on the touchscreen, there are the remains of various types on insects (splattered on the autobahn at 130 mph), and there is what I think might be a chocolate stain on one of the seats.
I don't like having a dirty car and I think I might go get it detailed soon, is it worth it? Or should I just man the fuck up and do it myself? Thanks, broskis.
EDIT: Neither of these pictures are my own, nor are they Fiesta STs

My poor car is filthy on the outside, covered in pollen and dust (yay Austin). Thanks to water restrictions we're not allowed to wash our cars at home, and I'm too skeptical about car washes to want to pay to have it done. So, my dark-grey car has a brown-green shield.

Depends, I would do it myself but if you don't have a few hours just pay to get it done. And that's not chocolate on your seat.

Yeah, that's absolutely gross. Cleaning is needed.
Outside of the car - don't clean unless you want to, but realize that it will damage the paint. Inside the car - should be reasonably presentable, as in you should not have to move anything for passengers to comfortably sit. Exception is farm/work trucks.

If you're going to pay to get your car detailed, pay to get it done by a high-end, professional place.
I take my cars to one nearby, usually once a year or once every other year. They charge $150 for a car and $200 for a truck or SUV. Whenever I get it back, it looks better than new. They clean everything, windows, wheels, floor mats, engine bay, etc. It is absolutely worth every penny.
Whenever I do it on my own, I'll spend 2-3 hrs doing a wash / clay bar / wax / vacuum / armor-all-wipes on it to clean things up. But it's still not as good.
The last time I was there they had a Delorean sitting out front that somebody dropped off. Fun fact - You use the same technique to polish a Delorean as you do to polish silverware.

That isn't my car, fuck all that noise. I keep the interior almost trash free with the exception of a water bottle and 3-4 gum wrappers.

I would say clean it yourself but I clean my colleagues and neighbours cars as I get great pleasure from it but if you haven't the time or energy to do it, get someone else to do it and then keep on top of it.
There ae so many products out there these days that help take far far less time to wash and maintain you car these days.

There are many great products to help. Take the likes of Gyeon Bathe+. It's a shampoo and sealant in one. The first application is best by using a small amount wiped on after a regular hand wash with further washes only needing a hand wash with the Bathe+ as the shampoo in the bucket. Makes waxing and other sealants non essential and really helps keep the body clean therefore reducing the amount of times you need to maintain it.
Here's a quick video with bonus Ford mk2 Focus RS.
From a sellers site.
GYEON Q2M BATHE+ can be used in two different ways; either as a normal shampoo or as a post-wash wipe-on rinse-off maintenance product. For best results as a normal shampoo, use at a dilution rate of 500:1 (water:product), which equates to 30 ml in a PB Clear Wash Bucket. Simply add the correct amount of shampoo to your suds bucket and then fill it to the top with a stream of warm water, stirring it as you do so. If your water pressure is low and relatively few suds are produced, blast a little cold water into the bucket with your hose or pressure washer (making sure that you submerge the nozzle first); this will generate more suds. For best results as a post-wash maintenance product, wipe a few drops onto each (still wet) panel using a fresh wash mitt (wetted in warm water first) and then leave it to dwell for 2-3 minutes before rinsing it off at high pressure.

Sorry, should have read the opening line a little closer, that it was too dark to take pictures. But when you post such a horrifying mess where you are asking a question about your car, expect a little misunderstanding.
